     This is definitely the most affordable hotel I've stayed in in Hawaii. It's got amazing pools (4, plus three outdoor hot tubs) and you can see the beach and ocean from the pools. In between the pools and the beach are ancient fish ponds and lava fields. That said, the hotel itself also lacks any kind of Hawaiian charm. It's a pretty standard Marriott. There are certainly more unique and luxurious places to stay on the island, but if you're on a tight budget and just want to sleep in your hotel, this is the place to go. PS--the beach there is very rocky and full of lava and coral. I cut myself twice while snorkeling. Bring water shoes!
