Blue Flag beach: a must-see in Alcudia

Alcudia can be found on the enchanting north east coast of Mallorca Island and has been a popular holiday destination for many decades. Most people travel to this part of the world to visit Blue Flag Beach in Alcudia,which is an excellent place to soak up the sun. The sand is lapped by crystal clear water, while the long stretch of sand invites visitors to stretch out on it.

The beach is lined with a large number of world class hotels as well as restaurants, shops and other amenities. This means that people who travel to Alcudia to spend the day on the sand never have to go far in search of refreshment or entertainment.

Alcudia also boasts a wide range of other attracts for people who visit Blue Flag Beach in Alcudia to explore. Nature lovers will want to take the time to check out the stunning S’Albufereta Wetlands area, which can be found close to the city. This area is home to a wide range of species of flora and fauna, including the purple heron, sea irises and osprey. Several well-worn hiking trails run through the S’Albufereta Wetlands area, and there are also plenty of places to pause and enjoy a picnic before heading back to the beach.

People who are interested in history and culture can also take a trip to explore the Roman city of Pollentia’s archaeological remains, which cover an area of 12 hectares and date back to 123 BC. Visitors can follow in the footsteps of the ancient Romans as they make their way along streets lined with the remains of once magnificent buildings. There are also plenty of Roman remains and details of the historical importance to be found in the nearby Monographic Museum of Pollentia.

Saint Marti’s Cave is a natural attraction that should not be missed while visiting Alcudia. The cave can easily be reached by bicycle and contains medieval altars dedicated to Saint Jordi and Saint Marti. People who are travelling with children can also keep cool while having fun at the nearby Hidropark. There are plenty of water slides and pools to splash around in here, as well as three miniature golf courses.
