Winter is a great time of year to get outside. I know with the snow and the cold, you may want to spend all of your time indoors until next June. But you’d be missing out on some amazing outdoor experiences for you and your family. Here are a few things to try while there’s still snow outside.
One snow activity to try is skiing. Skiing is a ton of fun, although it can take some practice to learn how to do it. If you’ve skied for years, then you’ve probably hit the slopes as soon as you could. If you’ve never gone skiing, don’t be nervous, but do be prepared. Make sure you rent some good skis, boots, and polls. You may also want to consider taking a few beginner lessons to feel more confident on the slopes. Most ski resorts offer these services. Starting a new hobby can be daunting, but after a little practice, I’m sure you’ll really enjoy yourself.
If you aren’t up for investing in a new hobby, or you’ve already hit the ski resort this year, you can try going sledding. Sledding is definitely a cheaper option than skiing. All you need is a sled! If you don’t have one, you can rent one or find an inexpensive option online. Bundle up, grab your sled, run up the biggest hill you can find, and go! For a really fun time, bring your kids or friends along and race each other. Everyone will have a blast!
Whatever you chose to do in the snow this year, remember to take pictures of all your adventures! You can put some of the pictures on your holiday cards to show your friends and family. Don’t know where to go for cards? Try Basic Invite. Their personalized photo christmas card collection is beautiful. They have cards to fit every taste, and all of their products are completely customizable. Your family and friends will love your holiday cards.
Despite the cold, I hope you get out there and have some fun in the snow this holiday season! Just don’t forget to bring a coat. And a hat, gloves, boots, warm socks, and a scarf. It’s pretty cold out there. Happy holidays!
