Sleek and chic, it has a gorgeous spa, offering Thai and Ayurvedic massage and a full hammam, as well as more traditional facilities and body treatments.

31, ave George V, in the 8th. 01 49 52 70 00. This hotel has the best flower displays in Paris, spending hundreds of thousands on them each month. It is worth coming to the hotel for a coupe de champagne just to see them. The pool is sublime. Here, you are in the epicenter of everything haute couture in the 8th Arrondissement.

Hôtel de Crillon $$$$
10, Place de la Concorde, in the 8th. 01 44 71 15 00. If you must stay in a palace, Princess, this is your place, on the Place de la Concorde. It’s often thought of as the best hotel for service in town. Still owned privately by a French family, this hotel is not part of a chain. True luxury.

One by the Five $$$$
3, rue Flatters, in the 5th.
01 43 31 74 21. The units here are more like apartments than hotel rooms: multiple bathrooms, a kitchen area (where you’ll find a recipe for a love elixir, with all ingredients thoughtfully stocked), a small terrace. A designer’s dream, the spaces are crammed with special little touches (some racier than others) and are the perfect place to bring a partner for an unforgettable night or two.
Park Hyatt Vendome $$$$ (pictured above)
5, rue de la Paix, in the 2nd. 01 58 71 12 34. This hotel has been redesigned, and it was done perfectly. The location in the 2nd Arrondissement, near the opera, couldn’t be better for some serious shopping. We could hang out in this lobby all day. Absolute subtle perfection. The spa looks inviting, and the common rooms and restaurants are divine.
