Overview

Le Priolet was originally an 18th century priory, now converted into a luxury, 4 bedroom villa set romantically on the banks of the Dordogne river. Just 15 minutes east of Saint-Émilion, it's in the heart of the Bordeaux wine region - a perfect home base for exploring this beautiful area.

Le Priolet sits at the end of long private driveway through neighboring vineyards. It's a tranquil oasis with a swimming pool, gardens and private access to the river for swimming and fishing from our own dock. The villa has been carefully renovated with modern amenities and one-of-a-kind antiques, preserving the authentic beauty of the original architecture without sacrificing comfort.

Reviews

Le Priolet is a lovely, bucolic retreat in Flaujagues, near St. Emilion and numerous activities. The home is beautifully decorated, eclectic with a careful nod to tradition, where every possible need is anticipated. We spent hours at the outdoor table, watching the river, birds, and kayaks go by, grilling dinner purchased from local markets, and sipping extraordinary wine. The house is very well-maintained, with thick stone walls and large doors and windows leading out to a beautiful yard and garden. The kitchen is perfect for a larger group. The owners graciously sent us detailed lists of activities in the region, along with restaurant recommendations and favorite beaches. Just follow their suggestions and you'll have a vacation that you'll never forget! Of the many homes we've rented, this one is our favorite...we'll be back!

Tripadvisor

My Anglo/French family loved the house I chose, and we particularly liked the calm and tranquil location overlooking the river. We also loved the natural shade on the terrace provided by the trees . The house was ideal. Plenty of rooms, all very distinct in character, a very well equipped kitchen (with the best small knife I have ever used!), and lots of space for everyone. The back up staff were great. Bordeaux is accessible, and St Emilion is even nearer , but we loved the market at Castillon. Take the river road, which is a delight. We hope to be back!

Tripadvisor

Le Priolet is a very special place. Nestled in the French countryside east of Bordeaux, in the heart of St. Emilion wine-country, this magnificent French Provincial stone house is a dream waiting to be dreamt. Splendid rooms, a magnificent kitchen, a stunning pool, lovely dining indoor and out, and a view of the Dordogne river that will stay with you forever. The property manager is wonderful and warm. Guests receive a booklet of information supplied by the American owners that will enhance your stay and simplify, well, everything. Yes, you will need a car, and no, it is not air-conditioned (but we were there during the 2022 heat wave and managed just fine). Stay, shop nearby, cook, swim, sit and read, and explore the area. We are already planning our trip back.
