About The Americas

Stretching from the Caribbean to the Pacific Ocean, some of the world’s finest coral reefs provide colorful habitats for a diverse array of marine life, making it a paradise for snorkelers and divers. Warm waters lap against sun-bleached sands, while rolling waves attract surfers to the palm-fringed beaches of Costa Rica and Nicaragua.

Further south, the largest tropical rainforest, the Amazon, crosses nine South American countries. This vast, biodiverse ecosystem houses 400 billion trees. Thousands of birds, reptiles, and unique mammal species such as the llama and alpaca live in this glorious, rich environment.

The Amazon, the world’s second-longest river, hosts an equally diverse marine ecosystem, including piranhas, pink dolphins and giant otters. Here, indigenous communities live in harmony with the forest.

High in Peru’s Andes Mountains stands the ancient Inca City of Machu Picchu. These well-preserved though ancient ruins offer breath-taking views of the valleys below. Here, nature lovers rise at dawn to see Andean condors take off over one of the world’s deepest canyons.

In Chile, the mountains run along the coastline so close you can ski in the morning and surf at noon. Beautiful vineyards languish in the valleys, producing some of the world's best wines. At the very tip is Patagonia shared by both Chile and Argentina and is one of the most dramatic and beautiful landscapes on the planet boasting glaciers, seas, caves and mountain ranges.

The Americas are truly diverse, showcasing Nature’s finest blessings, and some of the most distinct and fascinating cultural variations you’ll find anywhere in the world.

Trips to the Americas Reviews

Machu Picchu has been a bucket list destination for quite some time. I cannot imagine a better organized, unique or memorable adventure through Peru and the Andes than this experience with Girls’ Guide to the World.   The trip checked off Machu Picchu but so much more; delving into local culture and customs I otherwise would not have sought out or experienced. The accommodations and food were varied and top notch. Traveling with a small group of like-minded women was a joy."

I am still on a natural high after spending a week with Doni and GG2W in Oaxaca. This trip fed my soul from the wonderful, supportive, smart, funny cultured women I had the privilege to travel with, to the incredible culture of the Oaxacan people which the average American is sadly ignorant of. The people, the food, the art, the history, and the architecture are incredible
