Situated in the famous left bank neighborhood of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the bar Pont Royal was once a popular hangout of “lost generation” writers and notables like Ernest Hemingway and the Fitzgeralds. Later on, Julia Child lived in the hotel for six months. It’s easy to see the appeal: the hotel’s gorgeous and lush bar is cloaked in warm colors and an even warmer fireplace, and serves up some of the best cocktails in the neighborhood, while each room’s decor is designed around an original painting of the Pont Royal by a student of the nearby Ecole des Beaux-Arts.
