Meg Zimbeck and Barbra Austin at the launch party of their Paris by Mouth blog.

It was standing room only the other night as Anglophone food bloggers from across Paris came to Daniel Rose’s Spring Boutique to fete our very own Meg Zimbeck and Barbra Austin for the launch of their new website, Paris by Mouth. The blog features Meg’s and Barbra’s musings on the local food scene, and 10 other well-known bloggers, including Clotilde Dusoulier of Chocolate & Zucchini fame, each who will contribute regularly. The evening began right on time and was in full swing by seven o’clock, which is unusually early for Paris, but people were just so excited to come and show their support. The wines were fantastic, and Daniel’s hors d’oeuvres were so good that there were notable moments of silence each time he appeared carrying a tray.

The crowd overflows onto the street.

While there I met the charming Camille, an American pastry chef who gets up insanely early every morning to practice her craft at a local bakery. When she is not busy at the oven or exploring Paris with her husband, she shares her food adventures with the world on her blog, Croque-Camille.
The next day marked the official launch of Paris by Mouth, so you can now check it out online! The site features food photography so enticing that The Mouth calls it food porn. There are daily updates on the local food scene; a Top Five listing by category; and a restaurant guide organized by arrondissement, price and Sunday/Monday openings—this last category an original and particularly helpful addition to the local food-scene guide.

Daniel Rose’s scrumptious seviche treat.

Unfortunately I had to leave early, but I am sure that the party continued the next night at Street Food du Miam, and that it will continue this week during Tous au Resto—celebrations I learned about thanks to the fantastic new website Paris by Mouth.
