Shopping in Paris: Top Five Online French Shopping Sites
Tue 29 Oct 2013
Francophiles everywhere can rejoice that they no longer need to travel to France to go shopping in Paris. But it’s less fortunate for us because it makes picking the top five French shopping sites no easy task. There are a plethora of websites specializing in French products, from major French brands to individual artists, but most important, they all deliver outside France for a reasonable price. Have your wallets prepared, because you’re about to enter la zone dangereuse of online shopping.

This beautiful site is chock-full of up-and-coming French designers, the kind that aren’t available in every department store. It’s the kind of site that makes shopping online a truly enjoyable experience. Get to know the story of the designer behind your clothes with their in depth profile. When you’re done shopping, take a look at their magazine. The photos are gorgeous and worth a look even if you don’t plan on buying anything! Get free shipping if you’re a GO-Card member!

This is an essential shopping stop in Paris, but its epic online store makes it accessible even when you’re outside Paris. The blog is beautiful, with lots of unusual art and a calendar of überhip events taking place at the store. You can also order online and pick up at the store in Paris, a great way to get all your fabulous must-haves when you’re pressed for time. I hate when websites have their own soundtrack, but Colette’s is actually great. I usually end up turning off my music to listen to it!
French Gypsy

The best “online” flea market offering a wide variety of vintage and brocante finds. The shop’s owner, Janet, moved to rural France in 2004 from the United Kingdom, and she shops the flea markets in France, which is lucky for us because she sells her great finds online. Her selection ranges from beautiful French plates and enamel pitchers to more obscure objects, like vintage wooden bingo. It is the closest you can get to being at a French flea market but from the comfort of your own home.

The world of Etsy is so big we had to include two shops. You’ll find beautiful handmade jewelry from reclaimed silver using eco-friendly practices at this shop. The pieces are all unique and very special. If you’re in Paris, you can visit the shop in person and see the entire collection. Berenice, the shop’s owner and jewelry maker, will also do custom creations. Her style is unique and elegant, and we think you’ll love it as much as we do.
