Argentina is a study in contrasts, from the elegant, European-styled Buenos Aires to the cowboy culture of the Gauchos and the stunning beauty of the Mendoza wine region. We'll visit all three on this unforgettable journey. We begin in Buenos Aires. This beautiful city is often called the Paris of South America with its elegant blend of colonial baroque and modern architecture, café culture, and exquisite cuisine. It's the birthplace of the tango, a dance that mirrors the city's soul - dynamic, emotional, and unforgettable. We'll travel just beyond the vibrant pulse of Buenos Aires to an Estancia to draw out the spirit of the Gaucho (Argentinian cowboy). Surrounded by sprawling greenery and vast pampas, we'll soak in the essence of the countryside. Then it's on to Mendoza, Argentina's famed wine region. The enchanting Luján de Cujo Valley, with its vineyard-draped hills, paints a picturesque backdrop to our oenophile adventure. We'll discover and savor the rich aromas and robust flavors of Argentina's Malbecs while sipping local sauvignons, rosés, and sparkling wines. If you have more time, join us in neighboring Santiago, Chile, for a few days. (It's just a brief 1-hour flight from Mendoza). We'll compare Chilean and Argentinian wines and visit the birthplace and home of Nobel Prize-winning poet Pablo Neruda at his seaside escape. It's the perfect way to end your South American adventure!
